How to play Kitten Yarn Maze
- Use the arrow keys or WASD on a keyboard, drag/swipe anywhere on the maze, or tap the on-screen paw pad.
- Guide the kitten along the yarn-lined paths to the glowing fish treat in the far corner.
- Every wall is a strand of yarn โ you can't cross it, so plan your route as you go.
- Stuck? Tap the paw button in the middle of the pad for a hint toward the next step.
- Clear a maze to trigger a burst of paw-print confetti, then the next maze โ a little bigger and trickier โ spins itself into place.
- Use the level picker beside the maze to jump straight to any level you've unlocked, from Classic up through Hard, Expert and Nightmare.
About this adorable cat game
Kitten Yarn Maze is a free, kawaii cat game built for quick, one-handed play. Each maze is generated fresh every time you shuffle or advance, so no two runs are ever the same. It's part cat rescue game, part puzzle: your paw-step trail shows exactly where you've explored, and the level counter keeps track of how deep into yarn-ball territory you've wandered.
Your best move count and time are saved on this device for every maze size, so you always have a personal record to beat. There's no sign-up, no ads, and nothing to install โ just an adorable cat maze puzzle that works instantly, even on a slow connection, right in your browser.
Difficulty levels: Classic, Hard, Expert & Nightmare
Levels 1โ9 are Classic mazes that simply grow as you clear them. Reach level 10 and the maze turns Hard: bigger grids with looping paths (so wall-hugging alone won't always work) and a countdown timer instead of an open clock. From level 14 you hit Expert mazes, which add a wandering tangle of yarn that hunts toward your kitten โ bump into it and you're sent straight back to the start of the maze. Level 21 unlocks Nightmare: even larger grids up to 27ร27, three or four hunting tangles at once, a much sharper chase instinct, and a timer as tight as 28 seconds on the hardest runs. Run out of time on a Hard, Expert or Nightmare maze and you can retry a freshly shuffled layout without losing your progress.
Tips for clearing tricky mazes
- Hug one wall (say, always turn left when you can) to reliably reach the exit of any Classic maze.
- Watch your paw-print trail โ if you're retracing lilac pawprints, you've hit a dead end and should backtrack.
- Bigger mazes reward patience more than speed. Fewer moves beats a fast but wandering run for your best score.
- On Hard, Expert and Nightmare mazes, loops mean more than one path exists โ glance ahead before committing so a chasing yarn tangle can't box you in.
- Nightmare mazes throw multiple tangles at you with a much higher chase instinct โ herd them apart before you commit to a narrow corridor, or you'll get boxed in.
